In 2009, just weeks after I had met
Lucinda – the woman of my dreams, inspiration, artistic &
spiritual muse and future wife – We found out I had bowel cancer &
secondary lung cancer.
Ever since then we have spent hours
together in waiting rooms throughout the South of England –
Doctors, clinics and of course, hospitals. We have seen a lot of
(understandably), very scared people. Both of us wanted to try and
make cancer a little bit less scary for others.
I had started a blog; not to show to
others but to use as a diary. So many dates, appointments, doctors,
nurses, surgeons, operations...etc to remember. When I found out I
had the brain tumour. We talked and decided that these memories may
just help someone else going or about to go through the same thing.
The thing is, we need to show people
just how important positivity, laughter, love and happiness is.
Lucinda said something a while ago – The three L's – Love
Laughter and Lots of Positivity (someone else pointed out, that
should be – Love Laughter and Lucinda).
If you look to the right of the screen,
there is a Blog Archive below the About Me section. Look for the
link : The
Very First Post : as that is.....well The very first live post.
We are also working on 'Our Story', a
much more elaborate tale of Lucinda, myself, our life together and
what we have already been through.
Hopefully, a link/tab will go up for
that as soon as we can. Until then....
Keep Smiling.
Lucinda & Stew.

Lucinda and Stewart, I feel honoured to be allowed to read your blog, and I'm certain it will, as you hope, do much to dispel the fears and taboos around talking openly about cancer. I believe you have already helped everyone you have come into contact with, anyway, by teaching us from example about the power of positivity, and above all, of love. Your love of your family, your life together and each other is incredibly strong and inspiring. I am especially excited about the 'Our Story' part of your blog, I can't wait for that! Thanks for every word you share with us, your thoughts are so precious. Love always, Lucy x
ReplyDeletePerfectly expressed Lucy! x
DeleteHello Lucy, Thank you so much for your lovely comments
DeleteStew has that 'Magic' about him which inspires us all, and brings the best out of us all too.
I am so very proud of him and all he achieves. We are staying positive and many smiles are the order of the day :-)
Lots of love to you Lucy x
Hello Lucy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to read our little blog and also the beautiful comments.
There are now 5 posts (up to press). We are posting a few now and then until we get up to date :-)
I never realised just how much you have already been through, and cannot begin to imagine the stress and personal lows that you have both encountered, but what I immediately see from this long battle is the absolute commitment and bravery that you have, and of course the power of your positivity. I like the latter version of the three L's as Love, Laughter and Lucinda certainly offers the authenticity of your love, and the incredible fight that you have been waging together since 2009, I have to say that you two are both fantastic peeps.
ReplyDeleteThis diary, a blog of your fight so far is really something, and it is an honour to be in such company once again, the battle continues Stew, the war against cancer is a hard road but you are definitely courageous enough to see it through. Have a restful Thursday my friends.
